2015 – A look back

We’re more than a week into the new year already but I wanted to take some time to look back at 2015.  What a year.

1

January: We moved into our new home and got engaged!  It was such an exciting time for us and it still feels like it was yesterday.  I don’t know if it was all of the projects we took on around the house this year or the fact that we planned a wedding in less than three months, but 2015 was the fastest year of my life.

February: I celebrated my 28th birthday!  It snowed a lot. That basically summarizes the whole month.

March: I started a new job and realized I needed to slow down with major life-changing decisions.  A new house, a fiance and a new job was enough excitement for at least a few months.

April:  We took on some projects around the house and Pete’s softball season started.  I try to make it to all of his games to watch him play and this year I got a Future Mrs. jersey!

May: We opened the pool! As first time homeowners and first time pool owners, this was definitely fun for us. We’re excited for lots of pool parties in the future.

June: To celebrate our 4th anniversary, Pete surprised me with a trip to Vermont to visit my favorite breakfast spot – Dot’s! I used to go all the time when I was a kid so it was really fun to see how much the town has changed since my last visit.  It was even more fun to see how excited Pete was about their famous pancakes.

July: We took a trip to Boston and went to a Red Sox game, which is always a great time.  Pete even caught a foul ball!

August:  We celebrated Pete’s 30th birthday!  I spent quite a bit of time re-branding my blog which was a scary and exciting project.  It has led to some really amazing opportunities and I’m so happy I took the plunge.

September:  We closed out the summer with some more projects around the house (do you guys have any interest in seeing home stuff on the blog?) and our final trip of the season to our favorite local ice cream spot – Wells Hollow Creamery.  We also set a wedding date, giving ourselves 84 days to plan everything.  Whoops.

October: I’m pretty sure I spent the entire month asking Pete questions about the wedding.  “What color tux do you want to wear? What kind of cake do you want? What color flowers do you want?”  Speaking of flowers, one of the most exciting parts of wedding planning was visiting Stylish Blooms and planning our floral design and decor.  She did an even more amazing job than I could have ever imagined!

November: We finally got around to getting engagement pictures taken, a little less than a month before the big day 😉 I should probably mention that we’re not super outdoorsy people and it was literally the coldest day EVER.  Rowanberry & Lavender did an absolutely INCREDIBLE job.  Plus, she’s the sweetest.

December: We got married! And celebrated our first Christmas together as husband and wife! December absolutely flew by.  The whole month was honestly a blur but it was so fun to celebrate with all of our close friends and family.

So that’s that.  I didn’t really plan on writing this post so I’m sure I missed a few things but it really was a great year and I can’t wait to see what 2016 brings.  I’ll be keeping better track of this year so next year’s recap can be more detailed.
