It’s the first weekend of Fall and I’m jumping right in with five of my Fall favorites to celebrate!
Blanket Scarves
Who doesn’t love a good blanket scarf? You can wear them SO many ways! Grab your favorite pumpkin spiced anything and check out The Sweetest Thing’s post for a few great ways to style. They’re perfect to mix and match with basics and patterns and they keep you warm! Seriously, with Connecticut winters on the way, that extra layer of warmth is a real thing. I’ve linked a few on my wish list below 😉
Dark Nail Polish
Like these gorgeous new colors from Essie. I’m typically a light pink polish kinda girl, but when it comes time for Fall, I can’t help but switch things up with some darker colors like Caviar Bar, Off Duty Style & Bubbles Only! Essie’s new Gel Couture line is pretty awesome. I’ve gone chip-free for almost an entire week, which is much longer than I can commit to a color anyway.
Chunky Sweaters
One of the cutest ways to celebrate Fall is with a chunky sweater. Here’s a shot of my all-time favorite sweater that I wore for our engagement photos last Fall.
If you check out my Sunrise Engagement Shoot post, you’ll see a blanket scarf in action. I hadn’t planned on wearing that scarf but it was FREEZING outside and it basically saved the day.
Dark Lipstick
I just got these gorgeous Liptensity shades from MAC and I can’t wait to wear them all Fall/Winter long. From left to right: Double Fudge, Hellebore & Marsala. I’ve already worn Driftwood — it’s amazing, and wore super well.
Leopard Print Everything
Let’s be real, this is not just a Fall thing, but I do have an obsession with a good leopard print. Like this skirt from J. Crew Factory. I would be lying if I said I didn’t own four variations of the same skirt (with another two in my cart online). The best part about leopard print is that you can mix it up with stripes (and other patterns), bright accents or all black/white. Lemon Stripes just mixed leopard with floral and I was all heart eyes.
And a bonus, because, why not. I’ve seen recipes for Apple Cider Mimosas floating around and I’ll definitely be getting festive with those this Fall. 1/2 Apple Cider, 1/2 Champagne in a caramel & brown sugar rimmed champagne glass. I’m thinking maybe 3/4 Champagne might be a better idea – what do you guys think?
