Exactly one year ago, I walked into our new house and Pete was down on one knee. We never quite got around to getting engagement pictures taken, so when we found our wedding photographer – Rowanberry + Lavender – we figured an engagement shoot would be the perfect chance for us to get to know her. She recommended a sunrise engagement shoot, and although Pete and I aren’t really morning people, we decided to go for it.
We headed up to Southford Falls State Park in Oxford, Connecticut on the coldest Fall day, less than a month before our wedding. After a few hours of hiking around in the woods, getting to know Rachel and chugging Starbucks (we had to catch the sun rise and it was EARLY), we headed home.
I still can’t believe what an incredible job she did and it was absolutely worth freezing our butts off with Rachel for hours.
Here are some of our favorites, but I’ll be adding them all to a board on Pinterest here.
Tell me all about your engagement sessions in the comments!
