Wedding Wednesdays – My Makeup!

As someone who has never had their makeup professionally done, I have to say I was quite nervous. I reached out to Amber from Amber Papastavros Hair and Makeup Design and she couldn’t have made the process any easier.

Because I didn’t do a makeup trial, she suggested I pull some inspiration photos together before the big day. I also had the chance to ask her really ridiculous questions like “Should I put moisturizer on my face before I get there?”. In case you’re getting married and you have the same question, the answer is “yes”. She made sure I didn’t have any product allergies and reminded me to bring some lip gloss/lipstick with me to reapply throughout the day.

The morning of the wedding was pretty frantic but Amber was super patient while I sipped my coffee and mimosas and showed her pictures of my wedding makeup inspiration on Pinterest. As soon as she started, I was so happy I left this job to a professional. My favorite part about having my wedding makeup done was the airbrush foundation. It almost felt like a spray tan, with cool bursts of damp air, and the results were phenomenal. I’m about one million percent sure my makeup will never look as good again as it did that day.

Although everything came out perfectly, if I could do it again I would have definitely done a wedding makeup trial beforehand. I really lucked out because Amber is so talented, but my makeup made such a huge difference in our wedding photos and I have a feeling I would have been pretty upset if it hadn’t worked out.
