It’s #WeddingWednesday again and I officially have all of my photos from the very talented Rowanberry + Lavender. I’m so excited to share some of my wedding décor and floral details with you! I seriously feel like I won the wedding vendor lottery – all of my vendors were incredible and Melissa from Stylish Blooms is no exception.
I visited Melissa about two months before the wedding with my now mother-in-law and sister-in-law and we had such a blast picking out colors, flowers and décor for the big day. Melissa made everything incredibly easy and I have to give her extra props for reeling me in when I started to add EVERYTHING in The Style Room to the table decor. She was also super patient with the hundreds of emails, photos and Pinterest inspiration boards I sent her. All of Melissa’s hard work really tied everything together. Looking back on the day, she played a huge part in completing my vision.
Ceremony
For the ceremony, we had 6+ foot tall candelabras from Stylish Blooms on each side of the backdrop and they were absolutely incredible! I hand painted our backdrop with our monogram and wrote out our wedding date and the lyrics to our wedding song, “Marry Me” by Train. Even though it took me basically my entire life to finish, the backdrop was one of my favorite parts of the day and was worth every second.
His boutonniere
Pete’s boutonniere was another one of my favorite details from the day. His grandfather, who passed away quite a few years ago, was a Chicago Bears fan and my grandfather, who recently passed away, was a New York Mets fan. He wanted to honor both of them by incorporating blue and orange into our day. Melissa worked with us to pick the perfect flowers for his boutonniere (after I sent her approximately 5,000 inspiration photos) and we ended up with orange and white ranunculus. Because of Pete’s love for craft beer, I asked if she was able to add some hops and she found fresh hop cones to add in and wrapped everything in white and navy striped ribbon. The night before the wedding, I went on Instagram and saw her post of the boutonniere and it was even more perfect than I ever could have imagined.
The Table
While I was getting ready that morning, I saw another post from Melissa’s Instagram with the tables all set up and ready to go. They were perfect. As far as décor goes, we had lanterns and tons of mercury candles on the table with gold sequin table runners. The centerpieces had blush, burgundy, and white roses along with white lisianthus, burgundy astilbe and seeded eucalyptus. Sharing one table with all of our friends and family made the day amazing, but Melissa’s décor was the icing on the cake.
Cake
Speaking of cake… As I’m sure you saw in my previous #WeddingWednesday post, I debated pretty hard about getting a cake. Our wedding was quite small and I wasn’t sure if it would be worth it but it definitely was. We ended up getting our cake from our favorite bakery – Sugar Bakery in East Haven, Connecticut. We did a small, two-tier cake topped with our monogram and accented with some beautiful flowers from Melissa. We chose one Cookie Dough layer and one Oreo layer and everyone loved it!
Bouquet
I had originally planned on matching the bouquet to the flowers on the tables, but because of the orange ranunculus in Pete’s boutonniere, I opted for just the blush and white flowers and I’m absolutely thrilled with that decision. My wedding bouquet was stunning. Melissa used white and blush roses, white ranunculus and accented with seeded eucalyptus. It was wrapped in blush ribbon and secured with pearls that matched my earrings and necklace perfectly!
And because Melissa is the sweetest person ever, she’s offered a $100 rental credit with any floral services to any of my readers – just mention this post!
With love,
Karissa
